In France, there is no Institution of chartered engineers. The CTI is therefore often the preferred contact for foreign professional organisations when it comes to recognising the title of French engineering graduates abroad.
At its annual conference in February 2019, the CTI announced the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding with Engineers Australia. This document, which can be consulted on the CTI website, stipulates in particular that Engineers Australia recognises accredited French engineering degrees – which have been listed since 1970 in the interministerial decree – at level 9 of the Australian National Qualifications Framework (the highest level 10 being the doctorate).
This agreement will make it easier for holders of French engineering qualifications to register with the Association of Engineers in Australia, as they will not have to provide individual proof of the level of their qualifications. This agreement will promote the international mobility of holders of French or Australian engineering qualifications and will thus contribute to the circulation of skills between the two countries.
