The conference on the accreditation of Joint Programmes organized by the European Consortium for Accreditation in Higher Education (ECA) was held in Graz (Austria) on 10 and 11 June.
Due to different national quality assurance and accreditation procedures, Joint programmes have frequently to undergo several national accreditation procedures, which represent additional costs and efforts for Higher Education Institutions involved in this kind of projects. The conference in Graz presented a methodology for a single accreditation procedure of joint programmes that can be accepted by all European agencies.
Internationalization is an important characteristic of French Engineering education. French engineering schools are involved in different kinds of academic and research cooperations with other institutions abroad. Nevertheless, the number of joint programmes recognized as a French “diplome d’ingénieur” is not very big (see the list of officially recognized French engineering degree diplomas) .
